Antigua claims 365 beaches, and with its scalloped coastline it's easy to believe. English Harbour is home to Nelson's Dockyard, a restored Georgian naval base and UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the island is a sailing capital, especially during Antigua Sailing Week.

Barbuda, a short flight or ferry away, has miles of empty pink-tinged sand and a large frigatebird colony.

Top things to do

  • Watch sunset with steel pan at Shirley Heights Lookout on Sundays
  • Swim at Half Moon Bay and Darkwood Beach
