English-speaking Belize sits on the Caribbean coast of Central America and protects most of the Belize Barrier Reef, the second-largest reef system in the world. Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker are the island bases.

Inland, Maya sites such as Xunantunich and Caracol and the caves of Actun Tunichil Muknal make it far more than a beach stop.
