Aruba is the sunniest of the ABC Islands, dry and windswept, with famously reliable weather. Its west coast is lined with soft white beaches such as Eagle Beach and Palm Beach, while the rugged north and east coast look more like a desert, with cacti, rock formations and crashing waves.

Oranjestad, the capital, mixes Dutch colonial colour with duty-free shopping, and the island is a top spot for windsurfing and kitesurfing thanks to the steady trade winds.

  • Explore caves and the Natural Pool in Arikok National Park
