Turks and Caicos is a British Overseas Territory just southeast of the Bahamas, best known for Grace Bay on Providenciales, a long sweep of fine white sand protected by a barrier reef. The water is calm and clear most of the year.

Beyond 'Provo', ferries and small planes reach Grand Turk's colonial capital, Cockburn Town, the wild cays of North and Middle Caicos, and seasonal humpback whale migrations from January to April.

Top things to do

  • Swim and snorkel at Grace Bay and Bight Reef
  • Walk the sandbar at Long Bay
  • Visit the limestone Conch Bar Caves on Middle Caicos
  • See humpback whales off Salt Cay and Grand Turk
  • Paddleboard the mangroves of Mangrove Cay
