Gros Piton (771 m) and Petit Piton (743 m) are volcanic plugs rising directly from the sea near Soufrière. Together with the reef between them they form the Pitons Management Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Gros Piton can be climbed with a mandatory local guide in around four hours return. The beach at Anse des Pitons (Sugar Beach) sits between the two peaks.

Tips

  • Start the Gros Piton hike early
  • Book a boat trip for the best view from the water
  • Combine with Sulphur Springs
